HKS Intercooler Honda Civic Type-R FK8
The HKS intercooler for the Honda Civic Type-R uses a larger size intercooler to maintain cooling performance. The newly designed 100mm wide core allows approximately 200% more area when compared to the stock core capacity.
The Honda Civic Type-R with the k20c turbo engine achieves 320ps with 2.0l with boost pressure exceeding 150kpa. The engine intake air temperature rises to nearly 90C showing the stock intercooler capacity is insufficient.
The HKS intercooler uses a large size intercooler to maintain cooling performance. The newly designed 100mm wide core allows approximately 200% more area when compared to that of the stock core capacity.
The stock intercooler piping layout has a sharp bend stopping the intake air flowing smoothly and causes boost pressure drop. The HKS intercooler integrates the inlet side tank of the intercooler and pipe to allow smoother air flow and reduced air intake losses.
The newly designed 100mm wide core allows approximately 200% more area when compaired to that of the stock core capacity. This large core shows overwhelming cooling performance
