FK8 Packages and ECU Solutions

I’m constantly getting asked about remapping options on FK8’s so I’ve broken it down into the 3 main options with links to the website so you can get an idea of the systems and pricing.

Remapping I can do several ways:

Direct to ECU is the most cost effective and doesn’t require any special hardware but is fixed in that you can’t alter/remotely support or remove the tune if you want to later.

Direct to ECU mapping :

Mapping with Hondata is custom remapping but you are also getting the Hondata interface which is quite costly and requires jailbreaking the ECU to allow it to work.

The system allows 2 maps to be loaded onto the module which can be changed along with a fixed display on the head unit when Hondahack is downloaded

Hondata supplied setup and custom mapped with jailbreaking:

Mapping with Ktuner which works with the 2017-2020 cars is the most popular option and it allows full custom remapping along with ability to store upto 5 different custom maps which can be integrated and selectable through the head unit when interfaced with Hondahack and using Tunerview app.

The gauges are fully customisable so you can chose what’s displayed and then edit the colours, warnings etc which isn’t possible with Hondata

Ktuner is from £1150 including supply and jailbreaking of the V1.2 Module and £1350 for the V2 –

With both Hondata and Ktuner you have the ability to also revert to stock, unlock the modules and sell them on so when you factor in that you will get most of the money back on the unit the costs don’t seem as bad.

With Hondata the modules are fixed to car type so will only be able to sell to FK8 or FL5 owners.

Ktuner the modules work on all supported cars they do so a lot easier to sell on and hence more popular.

Both Hondata and Ktuner also allow remote support with logging and ability for end user to upload the maps.

I'm happy to map a car that owner supplies a Ktuner or Hondata and car will need jail-breaking and mapping only but you must ensure the module has been removed and unlocked from previous car and I know there are a lot of these modules about people haven’t unlocked just mapped their car and tried to sell them and unfortunately if they aren’t unlocked they are un-usable
