With a focus on performance, each design undergoes CFD analysis and is then validated at the prototype stage through volumetric airflow, intake temperature and extensive dynamometer testing. It was developed to achieve two objectives – 1) Maintain low inlet temperatures. 2) De-restrict the turbo inlet path. The first objective was met by enclosing the filter inside a carbon airbox and using the stock seal against the hood to block out the heat soak from the engine. Since the intake sits directly behind the radiator it is crucial that the filter is not exposed which would result in a loss of power through high IAT. The second objective was met by removing the flexible tubing and optimising the inlet path with a Venturi stack connected directly to the filter. Furthermore, we added a second inlet to the airbox with a scoop pulling in air from the inner wing area. This almost doubles the total cross sectional area through which the turbo can draw from as compared with the single entry on the stock system. Our carbon airbox enclosure has been designed to maximise the use of the available volume and block all sources of heat. Simply placing and open cone filter with any number of heat shielding in the same place will result in exactly the same problem - the system will pull in hot air and result in a loss of obtainable power. The Eventuri intake system utilises a cold air feed from the panel under the windscreen allowing the filter to be saturated with ambient air regardless of how hot the engine bay becomes. This coupled with the unique Venturi housing for smooth flow results in an immediate gain across the entire RPM range of 18-20hp. The dyno graph shows the comparison between the stock airbox and the Eventuri intake system on a standard car with standard map and exhaust. As can be seen, several runs were recorded to show consistency in power gains against the standard system. The testing was done on the same day back-to-back and temperatures were monitored to ensure consistency.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: #fc0b0b;\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eVersion 2 \u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/span\u003eintake is an updated version of our original FK2 system which now replaces the stock rubber inlet tube with our carbon tube and custom silicon hose. The new carbon tube also incorporates the MAF sensor and so also replaces our original metal MAF tube from the original Eventuri system. The addition of the carbon tube smooths the path from the Venturi filter housing all the way to the stock turbo inlet tube and the difference is significant in terms of the extra performance gained. The rest of the intake remains the same with our cold air scoop and Venturi filter housing providing smooth airflow and low intake temperatures.
